The New Universal Exports

Welcome to the brand new Universal Exports. After almost three years with the frames interface I decided to go for something radically new. Although the functionality is the same (the pull down menus still appear on the bottom of every page), the design has been stepped up into the 21st century. What you see before you is the result of months of work and testing. Please, take a minute to e-mail me and let me know what you think. Suggestions and criticisms are always welcome, that's what helps to improve the site.

History

When I started the site in 1996, I only wanted to learn a little about HTML and put something different on my resume. Once I began I never looked back. After looking around at the various Bond sites (there were much fewer back then) I found that most of them had all the same info, just laid out differently. At that point I made it my goal to make Universal Exports something different. In addition to the normal pages like the women, the movies, the cars, etc, I have come up with many sections that can only be found here. Amongst others, Universal Exports features baby photos of the actors, James Bond firsts, behind the scenes, and more.

It's Everyone's Site!

In addition to the sections, I have also made a vow to make Universal Exports a James Bond site for everyone. If there is something that you want that you don't see, e-mail me. I want to hear your opinions and take your requests. I have a section in the movies page for fan reviews as well as a similar section in the literature page. I am also always looking for new ideas for pages. If you have any thoughts or material that you would like posted, please let me know.

The Future

What does the future hold in store? As long as the interest is there, I will continue to add to Universal Exports. My main concern is to get the files back up and running. I have been harassing my server for almost two years now to no avail. Stay tuned on that issue, hopefully it will be resolved within a few months. The next major area that will be worked on is the new The World Is Not Enough section. Hopefully this section will pass the one for Tomorrow Never Dies in terms of depth, layout, and information. Lastly, I am in the process of rereading all the novels and will be putting up reviews in the literature section periodically. After that, who knows!

How Do I Make The Site

All of the coding used in Universal Exports was written by myself using Notepad. Most graphics are either scanned by myself or taken from various CD's such as the Interactive Dossier. The site is optimized for 800 x 600 resolution and thousands of colors or greater. Anything less than that and you may lose image quality and those ugly scroll bars may appear where they shouldn't. The new layout should work with all resolutions, but it still looks better the higher your resolution is.

Summing It All Up!

Once again, thank you for visiting and if you have any questions, comments, additions, or just want to chat about Bond, e-mail me. Enjoy the site and remember, the highest form of flattery is a referral.
