Daniel Craig and Hugh Jackman on stage
After months of hype and a period of previews during which Hugh Jackman scolded an audience member for leaving their cell phone on, A Steady Rain has finally opened on Broadway on Tuesday, September 29, 2009. The drama will only run for a limited 12-week engagement, so don’t wait to see 007 on stage with Wolverine.
According to the official Web site, “Daniel Craig and Hugh Jackman star in the most anticipated theatrical event of the season: A Steady Rain. This new American play by Keith Huff tells the story of two Chicago cops who are lifelong friends and whose differing accounts of a few harrowing days change their lives forever. Directing is John Crowley.

Gaspard, Frank Gero, Cheryl Wiesenfeld, Jeffrey Sine, Michael Rose Ltd, The Shubert Organization, Inc. and Robert Cole. Daniel Craig in between Bond films
In a recent interview, Daniel Craig was asked if Bond 23 was going to be the final part in a trilogy involving the group Quantum. To this he replied, “No *#$&!@% way. I’m done with that story. I want to lie on a beach for the first half an hour of the next movie drinking a cocktail.” Now the final sentence was obviously a joke, but the interview has led to all news media definitively stating that Bond 23 will be completely different.
While the staff at Universal Exports is torn between this being good or bad news, the fact of the matter is that this was just a random interview with a man tired of James Bond at the moment. There is no script, nor any idea of what the plot will be. All that has been confirmed is what Daniel Craig HOPES for the next film. Granted, he does have more than a little pull, but still, the interview should be taken at face value.
For the full text of the interview, which goes on to discuss the roles of Moneypenny and Q and the return of Bond’s gadgets, check out “This One’s For All the Impatient Bond Fans Out There.”

Given the recent US presidential election victory by Barack Obama, Daniel Craig has gone on record saying that he now believes the world is ready for a black James Bond.
Barack Obama, the 44th President of the United States of America
According to the Sydney Morning Herald:
“I think the role could easily be played by a black actor, because the character created by Ian Fleming in the 50s has undergone a great deal of evolution and continues to be updated.”
However, the idea might not be well received by Fleming, Craig said.
“I think he’d probably turn in his grave … [at the thought of a black Bond],” said Craig.
Craig last month suggested Senator Obama himself might make a good James Bond. At the least, he’d make a better Bond than opponent John McCain, he said.
“Obama would be the better Bond, because, if he’s true to his word, he’d be willing to quite literally look the enemy in the eye and go toe-to-toe with them,” he told American magazine, Parade.
“McCain, because of his long service and experience, would probably be a better M. There is, come to think of it, a kind of Judi Dench quality to McCain.”

Forget Harry Potter…there’s now a new king of the one-day UK box office opening. On October 21, 2008, its first day of release, Quantum of Solace took £4.9 in ticket sales, beating out Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire’s £4.025 million take back in 1995. These numbers also eclipsed Daniel Craig’s first James Bond movie, Casino Royale, which pulled in £2.9 million in ticket sales on its first day of business in the UK.

 Daniel Craig - The 6th 007
While he is signed on to do a total of four James Bond movies, Daniel Craig recently told Playboy magazine “I did sign on for four so a piece of paper says there are two more to do. But let’s see how this one goes. In the film business, everything doesn’t always go according to plan”. He added that “We’ll wait and see. If it goes wrong, we’ll have to rethink things.”
In all likelyhood, the actor is simply trying to hedge his bets having seen how nasty the press can get when people are unhappy with their James Bond. And it’s true…based on what happened to Timothy Dalton and Pierce Brosnan, you never can tell who will be 007 from one movie to the next. Still, despite his trepidation it’s a safe bet that Craig will have to make good on the four movies stipulated on his “piece of paper.”

When Bond fans see Daniel Craig emerge from the ocean wearing only teeny blue swimming trunks, it immediately makes them think of Ursula Andress emerging from the sea in her white bikini in Dr. No. The scene in Casino Royale was used for all sorts of press releases and helped cement Daniel Craig as a worldwide sex symbol. However, according to a new interview with The South Bank Show, the homage was accidental.

“It was actually by accident,” he said. “Where we filmed, off the Bahamas, it’s just one of those places where there is a sand shelf and the sand shelf happens to be three feet deep. Because the idea was, I was supposed to swim in and sort of float off, but I swim in and stand up. And it was just one of those things.”
Craig said he realised almost immediately that it would be compared to the Andress moment.
“It was going through my mind… as I did it, I went, ‘Oh f***.’ But I didn’t realise the repercussions of it,” he said, adding with a laugh: “I had no idea I would be haunted by it for the rest of my life.”

Click here to see the Daniel Craig Sony HDTV Ad
If it’s not in the movie but it still uses Daniel Craig and the title Quantum of Solace to sell a product, is it product placement? Either way, Sony has just released a new minute long TV commercial for their HD TVs featuring Daniel Craig dodging a series of HD explosions.
The ad, which was directed by Baillie Walsh, premired on October 15 before a England football match on Setanta in the UK.
Personally, I think it’s quite boring and in no way makes me excited for Quantum of Solace OR going out and buying an HDTV. But that’s just me.

Daniel Craig and Judi Dench in Wax
Daniel Craig and Judi Dench are Madame Tussauds two newest wax sculptures.
According to Mail Online:
The new display features the current stars of the Bond franchise in a mock-up of M’s office, with Dame Judi as the spymaster casting a watchful eye over 007.
For the next two weeks, in the run-up to the release of the latest Bond movie Quantum Of Solace, visitors stepping into the room will trigger a security alert and be questioned by actors playing MI6 counter-espionage officers.
If they get “security clearance” they will be allowed to hunt for clues on a “smart table” in front of M.
Craig is the third James Bond actor to be shown at Madame Tussauds, after Sean Connery and Pierce Brosnan. Despite the excitement generated by his tight swimming trunks in Casino Royale, Tussauds’ model makers decided to dress him in a tuxedo, made by Tom Ford.
Dame Judi donated the tailored suit she wore in Casino Royale.
Both actors attended separate sittings at Tussaud’s Acton studios to be measured up for their £150,000 models.

 Daniel Craig
Much to the chagrin of his “better half,” Daniel Craig is an avid video game player, often spending hours on end playing the popular Guitar Hero. In fact, Craig is such a fan of quality video games that he was a quite nervous about lending his likeness and voice to the new Quantum of Solace video game. The creators had to visit him at Pinewood Studios three times before getting his ok, and one of those times they reportedly had to wait an hour while Craig finished up a game of Guitar Hero.
According to OneIndia,
They were about half way through making Quantum Of Solace and he got to play some levels of the game that related to scenes he was actually filming at the time. “The fact that he was –evaluating our game made it very high stakes for us.
“It was quite tense but the end result made it a much better game,” he added. The characters in the Quantum Of Solace game are modelled on actors in the new flick, and Craig’s first outing as 007 in Casino Royale. “Craig is very serious about his roles,” said Gascoine.
“You can’t just go in there joking and laughing. You have to establish you are there to do business. “If he says he doesn’t like it, you have to listen. He’s also built like a brick shithouse so you don’t argue with him,” he added. The Quantum Of Solace film and game will be released on October 31, and it is available on most platforms. Go get one for yourself and race with the real James Bond.
